So, I loves me my josei manga. Those who are in the skype chat hear about it from time to time.. but have they animated any?
Just in general right now I feel like going on a rant that women are neglected in this industry.. I just bought an adult item online, my profile says "female" and "married" and the confirmation email still has two nearly identical looking blond bimbettes with obviously fake boobs wearing nothing but things they're taking off each other, such a turn-off! (and guys, before you try to say otherwise, picture that as two oiled up men in speedos they're taking off each other and you should get a little of the viewpoint I'm coming from here..) You'd think that women would buy more sex toys than men, can't we get a little bit of consideration here? Some pictures of men, or at least couples? It's not that women buy less porn because we don't LIKE it, it's because it's extremely difficult to find any targeted or marketed towards us..
Which is where manga comes in. I love my josei. I think that's also why so many women like yaoi.. to me it doesn't seem all *that* different from a female perspective, you could substitute the uke with a girl half the time and it would work just fine.. but it's sexy manga targeted to US. Not that I'm particularily looking for yaoi ero, I'd prefer hetero.. but targeted to WOMEN, like josei manga! Does any even exist?

Zoe, it DOES exist and it's all over the place here.
They're called "ladies comics" and they're explicit as hell yet they have a actual story and not just pointless fucking
They're HORRIBLY popular... You can get them at any conbini/bookstore/book off/etc
(I know this much about it because it was a class worth of material on it in my Japanese popular culture class)
Here's a quote from one of my teacher's articles:

Ladies Comics are another manga genre directed at female readers. Please see Grechen Jones, '"Ladies' comics": Japan's not-so-underground market in pornography for women,' in U.S.-Japan Women's Journal, vol. 22 (2002):3–31, for further details concerning this female-oriented genre, in which African-Americans are sometimes featured as erotic others.

Futari Ecchi, licensed in the US as Manga Sutra, is about the closest domestic release I can think of. Volume 5 (which is the Japanese volumes 9 & 10 together) came out two weeks ago here.
The Ladies Comics that Mest spoke of almost never see any scalations or licensing. Other than that, I'll need to dig around a little bit & I'll speak to a couple of scanners I know to see if they know of any sites with any on it.

nana isn't ero at all
nana is too josei kira someone at manga updates also called it josei.
This one generally has everything one could ever wish for in an entertaining, yet serious Josei read.
