So it seems my video collection is getting way to large and I need to put them on DVDs. Ive looked into Nero/Roxio etc. and I cant afford those.

Does anyone know of free or cheap burning software?

There's allways the internet...

But are you asking about a program that will author DVDs that will play on a regular DVD player or one that will just burn data onto DVD-Rs?

Something that will allow me to watch the videos from the DVD, if that isnt possible, then one that allows me to store onto the DVD.

For the first one, I'm sure you'll get a few tutorial-like posts. As for the second option (or free-of-hassle, as I like to call it happy.gif), you can try imgburn; light and feature rich.

I was looking for a free alternative to nero earlier, but didn't really try out much. However, I did fine a nice list of programs.

List of optical disc authoring software

I've used 7 and 8, and they're fine (well, recent versions of 7 - early versions were buggy), but you need to go through the hassle of stripping out junk that you don't want/need. Like Scout.

uh dunno, dvdflick or something?

Yeah, that's the one... it was pretty awesome.

(I used a bunch of RW discs, which saves money and is very useful)
