Does it have to be our own "art" entirely or can we use copyrighted material like scans to do this ?
Or what you want is really a logo, so just vector work, no anime related images ?

the logo should seamlessly look "part" of the rest of the forum, so of course, matching colors and background.

how you go about it is up to you.

it should say DA forums in one form or another "downloadanime forums" "danime forums", "DAF" ..etc

If you look at the PSDs you'll see the slices on the right, you'll notice they have to stretch (the area with the ftp ad and the bar with user cp, faq etc.). Can't really put much there T_T

Anyway, I managed to get around to entering, since it seems so dead T_T.



I thought the text on the right was a kinda plain, so something like this might be better...I also had two choices with the 'banner' on the left, it was either this or cut off some of the top/left. I can go with that too, but if possible it would be nice to maybe push the text (user cp, which is missing on this image) to the right rather than cut off some of the banner.

There's something obvious on the banner that I can remove if insisted T____T. But I had to give it a shot XD

I'm strongly for the rotation, if it's possible. I did find a good picture though, courtesy of chazro (go figure, chazro provides the loli). With a rotation though, you can please multiple people at once, while keeping it fresh at the same time XD.

If it can be done just let me know if there's anything specific I need to do to get it to work--that's besides making a ton of them, I mean XD.

edit: This is the one I had done with the normal shape and the image I got from chazro, btw.



Only...she's not exactly from an anime. It's Kooh from Pangya. Not sure if it's a problem, but I figure a loli is a loli, and a loli eating some noodles seems fine in my book. If we can do the rotation though, I could take requests, or something XD

hmm, logo rotating wont be too hard.. in fact lm pretty sure it could be modded via time staps to have special xmas type images did that once on a previous forum l used to help run

Looking at it in the PSD, I don't know how it's coded up there so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put any piece of it over the 10 and 6 slices like that. There isn't much on the 9 and 10 so I can fix that easily, but I'd have to make it much smaller for the 6. Unless I could just change it to save the image and whatever is on the 10 and 6 becomes BG?



Guess I'll wait for someone to tell me what to do with that XD.

Not too sure, but I think in the end the output is just one image for the background, one for the logo and in this case one more for the banner... It shouldn't be limited in any way by the PSD internal structure.

The slices on the PSD actually do matter. It determines how it saves the images for the web. For example, currently:

Slice 6 is empty

Slice 9


Slice 10 is empty

I'm guessing though that it should be easy to put an image inside 6 and 10, or just put it as the background.

it's also possible to slap the pieces you need on top of everything else by absolute positionning...
it's very easy and gives you total control since you're not bound anymore by the size of table cells...

damn it, if l could get hold of the skin without having to pay for it ld have edited the damn code to position the thing so you didnt have all those images like that.. could have just redid the header compleately and just split it into three parts (the right part, the middle part, and the right part which would just fill the rest via percentages) plus since l have my own copies of vbulletin to use for testing it wouldnt have taken long

altho l would have requested the left parts for the logo be combined and well lm not sure about the middle part atm since you havent given an easy to understand split section thingie lol

The .psd shows what's saving an image and what isn't (so that you can use it in the code). Slices 10 and 6 aren't saving the image. That part is easy to change though, just make it save the image put an image in those two spots of the table.

What I'm wondering though is if it can be made into one so that I can make multiple ones for a rotation. Even if I have to do something like push it up so its not in 9 and 10.

It would "grow" out of the browser that way.. and wouldn't look so strange with the navi bar.

and get rid of the black lines. black and navy blue (entire forum scheme) don't look good together. make it the dark blue of the banner.
