Want to make a discussion about what peoples opinions on the definition of "loli" is as well as where people draw lines as to whats morally wrong and right

we know the strict definition of it being pron of underaged animation, and we know that its commonly used for just cute young people in anime

so whats everyone think it is and what do u think is wrong/right





basically anything with young characters in it to me is loli, i think no "sexual" content is required, ie Ichigo Mashimaro whch is just about elementry school girls doing retardedly cute and funny things that make you go awww way to much

of course then there are anime like sumomo which gets very close to where i draw the line between wrong and right


now to my opinion on whats wrong and right

yea shes suposed to be like 15, but shes animated, i wouldnt look at a real 15 year old in a bathsuit the same way what so ever, i woudlnt really say i have a "sexual interest" in this picture for instance, i dont ever the urge to say something like "id hit that" but i do think her character is attractive is that wrong? (ok shes almost too young even for me in that pic)

i guess i dont see it as an issue because most of the young chcaracters in animation have the personalities of older people, also IMO anime is pretty interpretive, when i see that picture picture i dont really see 15 year old in bathing suit, i more see two distinct things; a really cute character, and a character in a bathing suit

to be more articulate in what i was trying to say, i think its wrong to think for instance the above picture is "hot" because she looks young, but not if its "hot" because she looks cute because shes young, like i was trying to say, theres the really cute factor, and then the skin factor; not a shes really young and showing skin factor

actually as far as lm aware there are some really weird perceptions when considering what is wrong in reality whats considered molestation of a minor doesnt nessisarilly mean that the perpetrator has to be older than the minor technicalities can be quite stupid...

by UK law which applies to me, ness, timeless, oero and kotone - Ness' example isn't a prosecutionable offence, age of consent is 16.
just something to keep in mind regarding his or any of our views in future debates or discussions since we'd have slightly diff perceptions...

picture itself, doesn't apply to me really, too many 'young cute girls' everywhere...
it would have to be looking at the curves and body shape of anime characters to determine age, ofc, blantent child images in similar alluring poses are a no no.

It's really a hard thing to nail down. It's a discussion that will take place over and over again because of conflicting opinions and the lack of clarity that there is.

To answer a couple of things that has popped up in the thread to date in my opinion,

• loeakaodas' avy to me is not loli due to the fact there is no sexual connotation in the picture.
• The Shana picture to me is borderline due to "appearance age" of the character in the picture. I know in the story she is to be 15, but she appears to me to be about 12-13. However, I have seen 14-15 year olds that looked 20-21 due to clothing and physical build.
• As Mystie pointed out, the law is different in different countries. Some countries it is as low as 14 or as high as 21 in some other places. It's really had to judge sometimes the way some pictures are drawn really how to tell an age. The case in point I always go back to is the character of Izumi in He is my Master (Kore ga Watashi no Goshujin-sama). The character is 14 in the show, but appears to be much older by physical build.

There will always be a lot of questions about what actuall is loli. I think it will always be hard to define in a way to satisfy everyone.

For me, I don't think it matters how old shana is supposed to be, she could be in her 60s in the series but as long as she has the body of a ten year old shes loli I personally dont think character age has anything to do with classification of loli. If a character looks like a 10 year old then the character is a 10 year old. I really don't think that lolicons like the idea of a character thats stated to be young at age but then portrayed to have the physical appearance of a 20 year old. I think it's quite the opposite and relies completely on how old the character is portrayed. So I would say the picture of Shana is very much so loli in nature.

Loli, to me, is any fictional girl meant to be depicted as 13 or under. If a fictional girl is flat chested, but still looks over 13, then she's a flat chested teen.

Basically if it looks like a little girl to me, I consider it loli.

However, a little girl in a swimsuit or something like that is something I don't consider loli, mostly since she's wearing clothes and in my mind an image like that shouldn't be intended for perversion, unless of course the girl is in a risque pose.

I consider 14-17 to be the 'jailbait' area, or so the gag goes, and anything above that age is an adult.

I have similar opinions on shotacon (which, I'm not gonna lie, I prefer over loli), but of course this is all stating my opinion on what I consider to be loli/shota, and not my views on my like/dislike for the 'fetish'. That's a different subject entirely.

in the states each state has differing laws on the age of consent. In ohio its really wierd its 16 but you have to be within 4 years of age. once they are 18 its free reign

About a month or so back I was reading an article (dont remember where) about a 12 and 13 year old who had consensual sex and got pregnant and under the law (I think it might have been utah) they were both charged with a crime since they both had sex with someone under 14 even though the other was also under 14. Basically laws about this stuff are just insanely screwed up.

Well looks are out of the question. You can't judge anybody on looks. In real life a new girl came to work one day, when she walkied up to the punch clock I nudged a guy sitting next to me and asked him, "Hey who's kid is that?" She is 4'10" and looks 12. Come to find out she was a new hire and 23 years old. I was like WTF!?

Only thing that actually matters is age. Usually the ages of the girls in anime can be determined either by them saying it, or knowing what grade they are in, etc.

I'd never even consider touching a girl under 18 years old. Actually in real life I'd never date a girl younger than 23. I'd actually prefer a girl older than me.
