My game is no doubt Zelda Ocarina Of Time for n64. Gameplay, graphics(for its time plz keep that in mind) and storyline was mesmerizing not to mention it ws the best selling game of the year. It makes me wanna buy a Wii(which I dont, just not my thing but im sure the console is fine) just so I can play twilight princess! ZELDA FO LIFE

You can get it for gamecube too, and whats funny is that I've read some reviews and comparisons of the Wii/gamecube versions that prefers the gamecube version over the Wii.

i say series cause different ones have been my escapism but i don't consider the best game of all.
ff7- being a first of its kind on psx would be the first all consuming game in which sleep, food and outside life outside of the bedroom was very little, lol.
ff10 for me personally was my escapism during first year at uni.
other games that have included mass consumption of time have been sonic megadrive series (more specifically sonic 3+ sonic and knuckles combo) or definitely streets of rage 2 on cheat mode (that being mania level with 99 lives) XD
those were the good ol days *sigh~*

I even went so far as to buy a Diablo shirt off ebay from Mike Huang the Technical Producer for second Diablo game when he left Blizzard North. The shirt was given to him when he first joined Blizzard in 97' and is exclusive to Blizzard North, it's somewhat of a prized gaming possession for me.

Muhaha im a nerd

probably one of the best and most time consuming strategy games out there, great art and music, especially for it's time, and a lot of variety in game play. Probably also one of the first games i played, it's old about 11 years old.
after that dungeon keeper (also strategy) and a varity of RPG's all 'bout equally good

Since it's me, I must mention a eroge, I still enjoy H na Bunny-san wa Kirai? (Do You Like Horny Bunnies?)
kirai toka suki?
tetris, i didn't have a gameboy back in the day so no time consumption for me, but even then most i'd get was like 200 ish lines, i can understand it keep zoe's attention for ages with the scores she gets >_<

my thoughts exactly (well, not exactly.. but you get the point
mine:
starcraft
best RTS out there and the best balanced game ever! (well, best balanced game where you can choose from different things that is
Close runner up has to be warcraft 3, seeing as I kind of like it more then starcraft, but thats mainly because blizzard learned allot from making starcraft and implemented something better in warcraft 3

even senario 1 is really expensive (and i can't beleive we traded that along with saturn for the DC)
it was an upgrade but didn't realise how much of a gem of a game we had in our hands
- dunno what you've got till its gone
but that game is amazing, top 5 for fav games, but not as time consuming tho ^^

but if i had no choice..at the moment FF series, since it's early and i can't think of anything else that can compete in that genre :heh:

F'ING A!!!! I HAD NO IDEA!!! Praise be to the gods, my wish has come true! Although, from the sound of it, it's so freaking expensive and hard to get that I'll never get it it.. Oh well. Not time consuming? I can spend all day playing that...

SF1 was my first RPG of any kind but the best was easily SFCD... that game took me months to find and it was worth it! WOW :braindead: ... but IMO: Saturn had one REAL game on it... we played for hours and hours, days and day, months and months!! Shiznittles we STILL play it! Guardian Heroes! Superior Gaming!
EDIT: I preordered SF3... It was as difficult as I wanted it but it wasn't very good IMO, it needed the other 2 parts XD

:woot: KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! :hyper:
i had that, i had that!!!! along with shining force 3, guardian hereos :worship:
like the awesomest game, soo cool :sohappy:
all those multiple endings (yes we did every single one) and the 20pple fights, and magic and attacks everywhere (yes i was the girl as usual)
and i love the storylines and choosing ur own path and when the soldiers at the start do their lame ass arm salute and go 'WAR!' and then we kick their asses XD *nostalgia*
ah man, i wanna buy a saturn and get those two games back now :sniffle:
(is tempted...)
as for shining force 3 senario one, most likely they'll be copies floating around US, would be a lil expensive maybe but sooooooo worth it.
it takes a while to complete its like...same format as number 2, move your characters like on a chess board, but this time there's special attriubutes you can get from other allies within your attack range, man i just gotta pm u garion if u want more info
dai's right in the fact that the last 2 senarios were only in japanese, totally sucked, we clocked sf3 like 6 times, did aaaaall the hidden taskes and got all secret characters and we didn't understand at the time why the story had a 'to be continued' at the end, we were gutted.
but its still an awesome game

Of course I want more info... Heheh, it's funny that you compare it to a chess board, in SF2 a demi-demon shrinks you and you fight on one, of course you knew that, but I wasn't sure about everyone else.... :heh:

Also mulitple games for the SNES back then such as the underrated Uniracers for the SNES http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniracers
God I loved that game, although now I haven't touched a console in a long time due to me playing a enormous time on WoW and playing Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection for the Aracde against other people everyday.
I liked it back then when everyone was just playing their console, instead of flaming over what console is better than which, but now it's just a common thing out there to flame on what is better and what isn't in the gaming community. ; ;

Metroid Prime- Classic 3D first person shooter. Interesting storyline and impressive graphics from year 2002.
Resident Evil (remake for gamecube version)- Creepy and sh*t the graphics surpasses everything compared to PS2, GC, and Xbox games.

Bah! Final Fantasy Tactics is pretty frustrating, the battles are difficult
#44
Posted 12 October 2007 - 07:52 AM
The only difficult battles are when you face 5-6 chocobos all at once. Choco Cure, Choco Ball, and Choco Meteor (i think was the 3rd one), will tear you apart.
Or if you are trying something crazy like 5 oracles/time magi/wizards/priests/calculator/mime..

I miss these types of games... Shenmue was the best thing that happened to me gaming-wise...
I played it in Japanese ofcourse - hells yeah hardcore.
But anyway, it was great! I loved; the mysterious side of it (especially since I didn't understand a word they were saying); the detail (back then, characters with expressions was a WTFawesome thing); and the freedom (you can go play frickin' QTE Boxing and Hang On in the arcade... and collect little toys! Or arm wrestling... OR GET A JOB... *faints*)...
I want to replay it... but it would just ruin it - I'll keep it as a memory... although I was disappointed to hear the third of the series probably won't see daylight due to lack of interest... I hate how such a good game has not been acknowledged
