k now that u know where to get them, time for some schooling.
now , the dorama subbers arent like anime sub groups. huge difference and even the way u get shows is different. note: these are my observations and are not law. its just what i notice...
1. there are guys who put up the raws (unsubbed show) and another guy will do the subs. luckily, some groups will do both but thats not the norm.
2. there is usually only ONE group doing a show. they have like an unwritten law, where someone starts subbing a show, no one will touch it. that way u get the most variety of shows subbed. kewl huh?
3. kewl part is one group puts up a raw, u get if from a page on d-addicts, then u can post a thank you note to that group. same as the subs. u get to thank the guys directly so they know how much u love them!
4. some subs dont match your raws!! they have different rates and stuff but usually, the guys who put up the raws will have link to the subs that match em.
5. hard subs are rare! only few groups will put them up and when they do, they take down all the soft subs and that show is DONE . even batch torrents are rare. mostly u have to grab each show as they come out.
6.the files are huge compared to animes. usually anime is 170mb per episode, while an average dorama is 700 to 800mb each!!
7. korean and japanese doramas are different in an average japanese show is 12 episodes at 45 min long. an average korean show is 16 episodes long at 1 hour length!!
8. korean shows are really "clean", no sex cept maybe one kiss(highlight of show!)! no violence cept maybe guy punches other guy once, that guy punches back one time. these shows are great for whole family. from shows i watched, japanese have few more fight scenes but still no sex, maybe one kiss too or rarely, omg they hold hands!!

lets start with my fav show:
Full House
length: 16 episodes, 1 hour long each.
this girl, Han Ji Eun wins a trip to Shanghai, but when she comes home, her home is sold!! she was ripped off by her best friends. She gets home with help of this famous actor Lee Young Jae, who by just bad luck, is the guy who bought her home.
To get her home back (guess they dont have police), she get into a contract wedding with Lee Young Jae! what follows is one of the funniest shows with tons of laughs and tears! It was funny, sad, suspenseful, but most importantly; memorable! the 2 main actor/ess just totally match. perfect love/hate relationship.
and it also has one of the best soundtracks too well worth grabbing the soundtrack and keep in your car.
aja aja fighting!!!!

next on list is My Girl
16 episodes long.
this story is about this girl ,Yu-rin, who is a tour guide for visitors cuz she can speak fluent chinese and japanese.along the way, she meets businessman Seol Gong-chan.He is the heir to one of the top hotels in Korea. He hires her to pretend she is his long lost cousin to help his dying grandfather have his last wish. Gong chan looked for ages for his real cousin but cant find her or even know if shes alive. She agrees cuz she has to pay back her con-man dads depts.
But, when Gong chan starts to fall for yu rin (or her for him), along comes his old girlfriend a famous korean tennis player(Kim Seohyun) and Seo Jung Woong, gong chans best friend.
this show ranks up there with full house. its another funny love triangle err square but what makes the show really shine is Yu rins actress Lee Da Hae. She is soo funny she makes the show just perfect.

time for an awesome Japanese dorama:
Hana Yori Dango
9 episodes long
this is based on the manga by Kamio Yoko and there was an anime too.
its about this poor girl, Makino Tsukushi attending an elite school named Eitoku Gakuen. She is trying her hardest to not be noticed in a school full of super rich kids. But as things would have it, she draws the attention of the F4 (flowers 4? something like that) they are the richest of the rich at this school. They place the dreaded red letter in her locker , which means WAR!!
along the way, she starts to fall for the mysterious Hanazawa Rui, one of the F4, but he already has a girl he likes. To make matters worse, the main brat of the F4, Domyoji Tsukasa starts to like her!!

1 litre of tears or Ichi Ritoru no Namida
11 episodes
this is based on the diary written by Kitou Aya, who got an incurable disease called Spinocerebellar Degeneration Disease when she was 15. This disease causes the person to lose control over his/her body, however the person keeps all of her mental ability. She kept writing her diary until she couldnt carry a pen. She died at only 25 yrs old and this dorama is based on her.
This story is about a girl named Ikeuchi Aya(Sawajiri Erika), whos family runs a tofu shop. The dorama shows her slow progression of the incurable desease and her fight to To "live my life to the Fullest".
i dont wanna give too much and spoil the show soo watch it!!

o and the main Song, "Only Human" by K is awesome. i had to watch the ending credits just to hear the whole song.

another sad show:
Beautiful Life

This story is about a beautiful girl in a wheelchair, Machida Kyoko(Tokiwa Takako) who meets Okishima Shuji(Kimura Takuya), a hairstylist in a trendy hair salon call Hot Lips. He needs a model cuz his salon is gonna pick the best hair cut and put a picture of it in a magazine. She reluctantly agrees , but when they put the picture in the magazine, its not for the haircut but cuz she's in a wheelchair.
thats how they start their relationship but it seems like everything and everyone is trying to keep them apart. From her bossy brother or the trouble just being a disabled person can cause.
This is another really touching show with an ending thats soooo sad, make sure u have a big box of tissues ready.

One day , he helps out a korean girl named Song Eun Chae(Im Su Jung) who had her bag stolen. She is the coordinator for a famous korean singer Choi Yune.
Eun Chae gets back to Korea and see's Moo Hyuk again, thinking he is in love with her, she tells him she is already in love with someone else but, he isnt there for her, he is seeking revenge for the mother who abandoned him and his twin sister at birth.
This series has soo many turns and twist, love and hate. u name it and it has the most heartbreaking ending ive seen yet! shhh dont tell anyone the ending

time for one of the most popular dorama:
Great Teacher Onizuka
12 episodes based on manga by Tohru Fujisawa.
This show is about biker Eikichi Onizuka (Takashi Sorimachi) who gets the chance to finally become a teacher. His goal is to become the greatest teacher ever, but only problem is ..... they gave him the worse class to teach. that class has history of having all their previous teachers quit!
The love interest is the pretty teacher Fuyutsuki Azusa (Matsushima Nanako).
He has to win over the school and his batch of trouble maker kids with his offbeat teaching methods.
this is a really fun show, a bit episodic but thats perfectly fine with me. each episode ties into the one before and by the end, it comes out perfect!
this show was soo good, there was also a tv special and a movie. and, odd as may be, the anime came out after the tv dorama.

Goong aka Princess Hours
24 episodes long 1 hour each (lonnngg show)
Another rags to riches story (but we all love those). the story is set on what if Korea had a govt like Japan and England with kings and queens.
this one is about this spunky girl, Shin Chae-gyung who is forced to marry the crown prince of Korea, Lee Shin! it seems her grandfather was a good friend of the old King and they promised to have their grandkids marry.But, how can she marry him when, at school she overheard him proposing to another girl!
But, since her father is broke, she agrees to the marriage and has to move into the palace (goong means palace in korean). Thats when the fun begins cuz Chae-gyung doesnt know a thing about being a princess!!
this show is set in some really beautiful settings and the costumes are awesome. the soundtrack is also one of the bests. this show is another cant miss!! its a bit long but worth it.

Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu aka Crying out Love, in the Centre of the World

This story is based on a novel written by Kyoichi Katayama that sold over 3 million copies.
the show start with a boy standing on some tall ,red cliffs in Australia holding a bottle of ashes. He falls to his knees crying, the wakes up and its 17yrs later. The boy, Matsumoto Sakutaro is now a man and still cant move on with his life cuz he holds the memory of his girlfriend Hirose Aki who died from leukemia 17 years ago.
This show then will take u back in time to when they met and fell in love.
its one of the best love stories ive seen ranking up there with english patient. it has an awesome soundtrack and the 2 main actors are perfectly cast.
another one u will need tons of tissues to watch and im not kidding!
there is also a korean and japanese movie based on the book too but both are not as good as the dorama. The special is a recap of the whole show from the point of view of their high school teacher.
and, this show was soo good it won:
best drama, best casting, best actor, best supporting actress, best theme song, best screenwriter, best director and more in 2004!

Do i even have to describe this show?? everyone knows about it, right? lol
This one is based on a best selling book "train man" about this otaku true life romance with a beautiful woman. He posted messages on an internet discussion boards (Japanese mega-BBS 2channel). A million people posted up advice to help him to try and romance the girl.
story starts out with our hero,Tsuyoshi Yamada, riding a train , when he notices a drunk making trouble with some women. When he tries to touch a really beautiful one, he gets up his nerve and says s s s stop that. A scuffle happens and a salaryman comes and holds the drunk. When they were talking to the police, the women ask for his name and address to send him a gift. Even the pretty one,Saori Aoyama.
Yamada dont know anything about women, hes never had a girlfriend and is only interested in computers and anime so, he posts up on a 2 channel for some help. thats when the fun begins!!
This is a show everyone has to see. its soo fun just watching yamada studder his way thru the show. He is the perfect good guy and hermes (the 2channel nickname of Aoyama) is a total babe!! they are the ultimate odd couple.
and , this show won:best drama, best supporting actor, best supporting actress and best director.
theres also a movie based on same book, but the anime is wayyy better.

She is given class 3-D in an all boy high school, the worse class of trouble makers in the school. yeah, i know u are thinking another GTO but no way, this one is wayyy different. trust me *wink*
Yankumi (her class nickname) has her own way of teaching and she is always there to help her kids. she teaches them not only about school, but life too. and shes always there to beat the crap outta anyone who hurts her students!

right now im watching this cute show call "my little chef", really light hearted show (for now) bout a girl who is kinda forced to be a chef of some fancy restaurant, only proble is she can only cook for people she talks to. really cute show.
and other show im watching is a popular one called Delightful girl Chuun Hyang. this one is really fun too.
if u gonna watch a new k-dorama, watch sorry , i love you. that show is sooo good. its the best, trust me. u will never forget it...

i watched an old series some weeks back about a girl learning to be a chef too. delicious relationship or something along that line. i thought it was not too bad.

summer scent we cheated. just went to video store and rented it lol. it would take too long to download all the ones i have.
japanese are really "rare" to rent cuz they are not as popular as Korean doramas. yet. im thinking they will catch on cuz Korean doramas keep having the same formula and peeps need some variety in life.

another fun to watch show. i really really liked this one.
Everything in this world is a game our hero's motto....
this one is about these 2 guys ( a real odd-couple) named Kiritani Shuji and Kusano Akira. Shuji is one of the more popular kids in school who is friendly and helpful, well, thats what he wants everyone to think and Akira is just plain strange, weird, crazy, u name it and is the one person shuji cant stand.
the fun starts when a new girl starts school, Kotani Nobuko. She is a really hmm gloomy girl who is picked on right from the start by other girls. And when i say picked on i mean really picked on! Her problem is she is really, really shy with no self confidence.
soo, shuji and akira devise a plan to turn her into the most popular girl in school with a total make-over. new looks and new personality, so they will "produce" her. add new nickname, nobuta and bam!! one really fun show.
this show was soo good it won:

this show is about this 27 yr old Yakuza named Sakaki "Tornado" Makio. He got the tornado name by being one of the best fighters around and he hits like a tornado. only problem is he is hmm dumb? slow? he cant add and cant even spell his name in kanji! so, his father tells him either he gets his high school diploma , or he will make his nerdy little brother the next boss!!
so, its back to school and our hero has to play the part of a 17 yr old haha. he looks as much as a 17 yr old as i do.
this show u gotta see, its soooo funny and the main actor Nagase Tomoya its awesome. u gotta see some of the faces he makes.

Another love triangle/poor girl/rich guy story but with a twist. This one has a baby involved! kewl huh? finally someone has some sex haha j/k.
our girls name is Cha Eun-jae, and she loves cooking so runs away to italy to learn cooking. Her Korean cooking doesnt impress her teachers, so she goes lookin for this korean teacher who makes an awesome pasta dish.
Along the way, she meets a guy named Han Yi-Joon, who by chance is lookin for the same lady cuz shes his mom who left him when he was 6. When they finally see her, its on her wedding day, sooo he is soo unhappy that eun-jae feels sorry for him and they end up in bed. Poor eun-jae ends up pregnant but doesnt tell the guy cuz he just left after their nite together.
jump 6 yrs later and by chance, they meet again and he hires her to help save his family restaurant.
only problem? everyone hates her cuz they think shes a gold digger!!!
great show with enough new plots to keep u watching. and they girl is really cute with big errrr personality *wink*

This guy, Kyung Min (law student almost taking bar exam) really really likes her but she ignores him, decides to use Jung-eun as a stepping stone to get the Hye Ryun. He decides to get on her good side by loaning her money to get an apartment on a rooftop ,so she dont have to move away with her parents and brother.
All goes smoothly until Kyung Min runs into gambling trouble and decides to hide from the gangsters at Jung-eun's place.
He is a really selfish guy who's only dream is to date Hye Ryun but along the way, he finds himself slowing drawn to the spunky Jung-eun.
oo, forgot, Jung-eun finally lands a job but its only part time. Working there, she meets the dreaded "rich guy", ah but this one is sooooooo nice. Guess who he falls for?
great show but hmm maybe small spoiler alert:
i thought i was gonna hate the ending. It was heading to the same ending as the rest of them when, BAM! it had an ending that just made me smile. a totally great ending imho

all of the ones above i download or beg copies off my friend who rents them. yeah, they take forever to download but most are worth the time.
for movies (asian) just rummage thru http://fantasticsuperclub.org/. thats the main site for movies. lotsa times they wont have subs, so u have to go hunt for them at kloofy.net ( u have to register but worth it).
oo and if u wanna see a kewl show, try download or rent cashern! that show rocks!! they have robots but kewl ones!

this show starts with this guy (Han Seung-wan) and girl (Jung Se-jin) meeting on an airplane trip to Singapore. Shes there to say good-bye to a guy she loved who died and hes there to surprise his girlfriend on her birthday.
By luck err backluck they bump/crash into each other in the airport and mix up their passports.
while gettin her passport back, she ends up helping seung-wan find his girlfriend while she gets to her tour of singapore as payment. But, they find his girlfriend with another guy!! to comfort him they go to his room, drink till drunk and oh oh wake up screaming cuz they are in bed together!!
9 months later......
its a funny show with parts of My girl, add in some Only you, throw in some Autumn Tale, sprinkle in a bit of Full house, mix in some 1% of anything and u got this show.
i liked it cuz the main girl, Eugene (thats her name , strange yeah) is soo cute and the baby is adorable. she stole the show.

What a mixed plate! this one has a little bit of everything Korean doramas have to offer and then some. I think its the type of show, if it was your first Korean dorama, u would love love love it. But, if u seen a lot of them, u would think its just another really good doramas. But, dont get me wrong its one of the best shows ..... until......

the show was just perfect until Kim Yeon Soo got , yes u guessed it, leukemia! darnn why did they do that? the show took a huge turn at that point (bout episode 18) and it seemed like they changed writers or something. but, i read on other boards and they said:
I read somewhere that Yeon Soo was supposed to end up with San Jae, but because of pressure from fans after they started airing, they actually changed the story to pair Yeon Soo and Min Chul. That might explain the change in the story's pace.
(from d-addicts boards). it really sounds plausible too if u watch it and notice the big change.But, they didnt 100% ruin the show. i liked the way they handled it.
so, id still give this show 2 thumbs up and recommend anyone to watch it. it has awesome music, super actors and great kiss scenes that dont look fake fake. hurry and download it!!

11 episodes (40min) and 1 special(90min), watch this first.
OMG! this show is soo funny. i saw reviews on it and begged my friend to get it for me and it was worth the begging. its a total blast! This is what i like about Japanese doramas, they dont follow a "set" formula, but have totally original shows that just blow u away.
this show is about a Yakuza ,Toraji(played by Nagase Tomoya, whos also in My boss, my hero) who was collecting a loan off this guy who escaped from him by sneaking into a comedy club. only thing, he wasnt running away, he was there to perform his comedy act in the old Japanese style called Rakugo. its a classic story told by perfomer who sits on a pillow and does monologue.
the Yakuza never seen this type of performance before and is soo blown away, he asks the guy, Don-chan to teach him stories, and in payment , he will pay off his loan!
only problem is Toraji doesnt have a sense of humor. He dont know how to smile at all and he hates jokes. All the makings of a great comedian huh?
along the way we meet the rest of the chars:
Ryuji, the son of the Rakugo sensei who quit doing Rakugo and opened a offbeat clothing store.
Megumi (played by densha otoko's Itoh Misaki!), she plays the dizzy bimbo type of girl who everyone falls for.
Donta, Ryujis older brother who really sucks at Rakugo but is popular on TV.
and the other students, Donkichi, Dontsuku, Donburi, and Udon. the sensei gives each student a name to go by.
this show is awesome in the way the sensei tells the "classic" tale and Toraji remakes the tale in a more modern version.

you have not watch stairway to heaven and winter sonata yet? no wonder there are no reviews from you.
just finished watching cheap love, a 10-episodes japanese drama with sorimachi takashi as the male lead. i thought it was going to be a happy ending but it left me tearing.

Now what a surprise. I've seen tons of Japanese and Korean doramas and didnt even hear bout the Taiwan and Chinese doramas till i was reading a "name your favorite drama" topic. Lots of guys mentioned "It started with a kiss" and i couldnt find it on my Japanese or Korean lists duh. When i checked the listing on it, it was named as THE best Taiwan dorama ever soo....
What a cute, fun show. Im really surprised how much i like this show!! its awesome.its based on a manga and theres also a Japanese version(Itazura na kiss) that came out while ago thats supposed to be really good.
Its about this short, cute girl Yuan Xiang Qin. She has a crush on the smartest boy in school, Jiang Zhi Shu. He is tall, good looking and has an IQ of 200 (smartest boy in Taiwan!). She had the crush from the first time she saw him 2 years ago and finally got the courage to confess to him in a letter!! of course she is turned down and she turns into the laughing stock of the school.
well, we all know troubles come in pairs soo, next biggie her house fell down!! it took only and small quake and down it came. Now her and her father are homeless, but a small bit of luck comes their way. Her dads longtime friend, saw on TV the story and rushed to the site and decides to let Xiang Qin and her father move in with them. Only one problem, its the same house that Zhi Shu lives!!!
Zhi Shu is used to a nicely ordered lifestyle and now its turned upside down.
This show is one of my fav's already (im not finished watching yet).I like it cuz theres not tons of crying and a life ending illness (yet). No huge dramatic endings every episode that seemed forced. Just a girl in love *sigh*

This is a really short series (only 4 episodes) but its a keeper. A really unusual show in its half korean and half japanese language. It was filmed in both countries too.
its about this cute girl, Tomoko (played by cutie Fukada Kyoko) whos on a trip to Hong Kong when her purse gets snatched. She chases the guy and thru a mix up, the police arrest the wrong guy , Ji Hoon. Even tho he's mad at her, he feels sorry cuz she has no money and buys her dinner. In payment for the meal, she agrees (all thru like sign language/japanese/korean/english cuz neither understands the others language) to be his actress in an amateur film he's making. After few days of movie making, they both have to go home so they exchange email address.
Thats the start of their long distance romance. They have more then just the distance to overcome. theres the language problems and the huge cultural differences too.
What makes this show great is since its so short, there are not many wasted scenes. And both the actor, Won Bin and Fukada Kyoko make such a cute pair *sigh*. This is the first time in a dorama history that two countries', South Korean and Japanese, staff combined together to co-produce the show in both South Korea and Japan.(quote from:here

when the taiwan started, everyone said they really liked the japanese series better but, once the Taiwan was running for while, everyone forgot there ever was a japanese version.
the japanese one is a tuffy cuz no one ever subbed it but from what ive seen, Taiwan wins. Its just sooo darn cute. Guys said they thought the Japanese actress had ugly ears and seemed too desperate. im downloading episode 1 to check it out.
there are 30 episodes of the hard subbed one even tho they said only 20 episodes on the webpage. The only reason they stated in why 30 instead of 20 was its shorter. no idea what that means.
